The South East England countryside means more than a pretty view.

It’s the place to turn to for some gentle exercise, family outings, a new hobby, a physical challenge, a refreshing break – or just a breath of fresh air when there’s nothing much on TV.

The COUNTRYSIDE 2010 fortnight of discovery, which ran from 29 May to 13 June, showcased over 800 rural activities, attractions and events taking place throughout South East England from 29 May to 13 June.

This special introduction to the countryside will be repeated in 2011, to get us all up, out and hooked on the great outdoors.

In the meantime, check out the Events Calendar on our sister website, Rural Ways, and browse the COUNTRYSIDE 2010 blog to get a taste for what next year has in store.
